Overcoming Obesity 2018 will offer plenty of unique and fun opportunities to network with like-minded obesity medicine clinicians. It’s also the perfect setting to get out and explore our nation’s capital with some new friends!
Walk with the Doc
Take in the history of Washington, DC, as you explore the city on a fast-paced walk with Dr. Deborah Bade Horn. Throughout the walk, learn different exercise techniques you can teach to your patients.
Participate in the mentorship program, where we pair experienced clinicians (mentors) with a small group of mentees to meet with throughout the conference. This exclusive benefit of membership allows clinicians newer to obesity medicine to ask questions, get advice, and build their network. Many mentors and mentees stay in touch after the conference. To participate, sign up as a mentor or mentee on your registration form.
Need dinner plans? If you don’t know anyone attending the conference, visit the member center onsite to sign up to attend a dine-around. We’ll make a dinner reservation at a restaurant near the hotel so you can spend a pleasant evening out getting to know your colleagues. (Dinner costs are the individual’s responsibility.)
Learn about the latest clinical research happening in the field of obesity medicine by attending the poster session and visiting with the authors of each poster. Or, submit your own abstract for consideration and share your research with the foremost experts in the field.
Learn about the technologies, products, and services available to you as an obesity medicine clinician. Talk with exhibitors, try samples, and discover new products and services to use in your practice.
Happy Hours and Receptions
Unwind after a day of learning by attending our scheduled happy hours or networking receptions. These events are a great way to meet more of your colleagues and share ideas outside of the classroom.
Breakfast with the Experts
During this attendee-favorite event, choose a table with a topic you’re interested in and spend breakfast discussing that topic with an expert and a small group of other clinicians. This is a great opportunity to follow up on any questions you may have from the sessions you’ve already attended.
